Real Steel

Hi Everyone!

Now that I have posted all of my photos from Katsucon, I’ll be going through each one to pick my favorites and feature them here.

I believe, please correct me if I’m wrong, that this robot is from Real Steel. I spoke with the cosplayer about how much the suit weighed and he said over 40 pounds.

Please enjoy. If you know who this cosplayer is, make sure to comment so I can credit him for his amazing work!

Have a great day!

Katsucon 2011 – Silent Hill (Nurses)

Hi Everyone,

This photo was taken at Katsucon last year. I know it looks a little scary but they are supposed to be! They are Zombie Nurses from the HIT Game Series, Silent Hill.

Silent Hill is by far my favorite game series that I have ever played (that does not include Role Playing Games – which would be Final Fantasy). When it first came out on the Playstation in 1999, it took the world by storm by being the scariest game to ever be released. I still believe that Silent Hill holds the thrown as being the only game series uses psychological warfare on your MIND.

The below information gives you an overall feeling of what the games are all about. There are NO SPOILERS so don’t worry about it!

Silent Hill
Silent Hill is the first installment in the series and was released in 1999 for the PlayStation. Silent Hill follows Harry Mason as he searches for his missing adopted daughter in the series’ multiverse.

Silent Hill 2
This game was released in September 2001. This has to be my favorite of the entire series. The ending is so good, you just want to keep playing the game over and over. Silent Hill 2 follows James Sunderland as he searches for his deceased wife after having received a letter from her.

Silent Hill 3
This game was released in 2003. It is a direct sequel to the first installment in the series so I’ll leave it at that. Any information I give you would just ruin the story for you!

Silent Hill 4: The Room
This game was released in 2004. The game follows Henry Townshend, who finds himself locked in his apartment and discovers in it a portal to one of the series multiverse’s alternate dimensions.

Silent Hill: Origins
This game was released in 2007. It is a prequel with a plot that features Travis Grady, who becomes trapped in Silent Hill after rescuing a girl from a burning house. During his quest to find the fate of the burned girl, he encounters characters from the first game and some new ones from his own subconscious.

Silent Hill Homecoming
THIS IS THE SCARIEST GAME IN THE SERIES. The plot follows Alex Shepherd, a soldier who has returned from a war overseas. Alex discovers upon his arrival that his father has gone missing and his mother has become catatonic. His brother is the only one who can provide solace, but he soon vanishes.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
THIS IS NOT A SILENT HILL GAME! I don’t care what anyone says about this game. It was absolutely horrible! If they had just called it “Shattered Memories” and named the characters differently, it would have been a decent game. However, the fact that they wanted to “Reimagine the first game with this crap, is ridiculous. I would not waste my money. It has nothing to do with the story arc of Silent Hill. HATE HATE HATE.

Silent Hill: Downpour
The game is due to release on March 13, 2012. From what I have read, the plot follows Murphy Pendleton, a prisoner, who is stranded in Silent Hill after the prison transport vehicle crashed. The trailer looked really good so I am looking forward to this game.

I hope that explains the series well! There are a lot of scary games out there but nothing beats Silent Hill for me! I recommend playing the game series!

Hi Everyone!

Katsucon is almost here!!! People are starting to get really excited about all the wonderful things that will be in the Dealers Room and Artist Alley. I have gotten multiple inquiries about what else is going to be offered at this year’s Katsucon.

In my last post, I introduced you to the Anime USA Booth. Today, I have the honor to introduce you to Technoangel Studios!

“I’m a hobby artist focusing on artwork featuring on visual kei inspired content and/or cute stuff. Typically I can be found hosting a table at a number of anime conventions in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States and I also enjoy hosting live sessions on livestream (see my twitter feed for times and links). Thanks for taking the time to check us out, be it either in person at one of the cons we attend or just by stumbling here via the web, and if theres anything in particular you would like to see from us send us an email.”

“Web designer by day, artist by night. That’s probably why I seem to find way too much joy in writing the code for this site when I’m not drawing.

I work in a variety of mediums, ranging from copic markers and pencil doodles to digital pieces using Photoshop and a tablet.

I primarily create original works for prints, and fanart chibis for buttons.”

Technoangel Studios also does some fanart but its not a primary focus of their studio. They also do commissions while at cons. So you should definitely check them out when you are there!

They will be located in C03 in the Artist Alley!

You can locate Technoangel Studios at the URL http://www.technoangel.net/.

You can also find them on Twitter: @technoangel

The Path

20120205-142059.jpg

Hi Everyone!

This is a really interesting art piece that is hanging outside one of the miniature buildings inside the Gaylord at the National Harbor. There wasn’t any information available on who was the artist or what the meaning was but I thought it represented the philosophy of “There may be many paths to take but we all end up at the same place.”

What do you think?

Hope you enjoy!

Have a great day!

The Gaylord Gazebo – National Harbor

Hi Everyone!

Here is a photo of the Gazebo that is inside the Gaylord at the National Harbor. It’s an amazing spot to take wedding, engagement, and special event photos. You have the beautiful background that just pops the Gazebo out and allows you to not have a lot of traffic in the picture.

Hope you enjoy. Have a great day!
