Hi Everyone!
Located on the banks of the Potomac River at National Harbor, local artist Norman Greene’s statue “Five in the Wind” evokes the spirit and feeling of standing on the edge of this new city by the water. Made of cast stone, the larger-than-life sculpture depicts five people sitting on a rock, leaning on one another for support as they’re blown by the river’s wind. A little girl sits alone on the end, holding on in the flapping breeze. Greene hopes his sculpture gives people a sense of the feeling of the wind and the oneness with nature while standing along the beautiful National Harbor waterfront. Greene is a sculptor who has been awarded numerous community-based and public art commissions throughout the area.
