I am really looking forward to upgrading this armor for Katsucon. I met some great cosplayers there that really inspired me to do some more with the armor. Practice makes Perfect, right?

I have been working so hard on my N7 Armor that I did not have time to make a gun for this cosplay. So, I looked all over the Internet and found a seller on Etsy called Steampunk Wasteland. This store is run by Viktor Graves and he makes fascinating and intricate cosplay steampunk guns. As I looked through his inventory, I found a N7 weapon that looks very similar to the M-3 Predator.
I absolutely love it and can’t wait to walk around Otakon holding it.

My mother donated some great gloves for my cosplay (she’s super awesome!).
Drew out the plate and fingers:
Started to paint the plate for the right hand. I only have the white stripes now. I have to wait for it to dry before the red stripe and then have to spray the gloss.
I cut out the small parts for the fingers. I wore the gloves while attaching the pieces.
I just heated the plate slightly so it would form better on the hand.
I put on the lower part of the arm to see how it looks with the gloves. It looks great!!!
I just attached the fingers on the right hand because I have a lot more to do with the plate.
I’ll keep you updated.
I took the pained pieces of the right arm outside and sprayed a gloss covering to give it a nice effect:
I set it in a box and left it in the basement for over 3 hours to dry. I would have left it outside because it stinks but it started to rain so I had to bring it in.
I started assembling the arms and will post an update tomorrow.
Phase 2 of the arms has begun!!!
The painters tape pealed some of the white paint when I took it off so I had to do some touch ups but decided to paint in the red lines first.
Now to let it sit and dry before I put a second coat of white and red:

I’m going to let the painted arms sit for a few hours before I spray the gloss over it and start assembling.
I decided that I am not doing the elbow because it’s going to be hard enough to move in this armor.
Now, to do the left arm while the paint sits.
The foam was all heated by my Heat gun and then molded to the size that I wanted.
The shoulder blades are done and glued together:

The lower arm was difficult but I figured it out. I heated the whole foam so I could bend to to an extreme:
I glued the wrist part together and then attached elastic to make sure it stays together. Then attached a small piece of elastic at the end to hold.
I heated the second part of the lower arm so it would mold perfectly on the base and glued it together.

The right arm will probably be done tomorrow. I am going to start drawing the leg parts now.
I am also going to start the drawings for the gloves. The gloves are going to be easy so I’m not stressed about that so I will probably do that last.

I got a lot done tonight and am really going to suffer tomorrow at work from lack of sleep. It is all worth it though. My goal today was to get the arms drawn out but I went a lot further than anticipated.
I drew out all the pieces and have set them in the order that they will be on the arm.
These two pieces are the shoulder blade:

The elbow – this may be taken off once I start attaching the elastic bands:
The lower arm:
The lower arm is going to be spilt into two pieces. The right piece will be glued onto the left piece:
I cut out the piece on the right and soldered it because I have some painting to do and needed to at least get one layer on tonight:
I got out my painting supplies and started painting the foam! I never painted foam before so this is all new to me. I’m used to painting on canvases and clay only.
I cut out all the pieces for the arms and painted only the white stripes tonight because I want to let it set and dry.
Tomorrow, I’ll either add a new layer of white or add the red stripe. I will also work on the left arm and attach the elastic bands.
I checked the logo out and I think it is ready to be glued on the torso; however, I wasn’t comfortable doing it just yet so I’ll try again tomorrow.
I’m exhausted so I’m off to bed.

The Small Resin logo turned out great!
Lesson learned though…don’t use a napkin to sit the sticker on. That was a bad call on my part. I had to cut around it to get it loose. No harm though so no big deal.
Look how great it looks compared to just having a sticker as the logo! The way it glares in the light and pops out. I’m very happy with the results.
Now, I wanted to test out gluing the logo on the foam and see how it would work before I started working on the large logo for the torso.
This is what it looks like on the other side. Some napkin is still stuck to it but it’s not going to effect anything.
I covered the entire back with hot glue to ensure there would be no way it could peel off.
Then I just got a random piece of foam and stuck it on. It sticks really well I think.
You can see that it sits directly on the foam that makes it look even more like a genuine logo on an armor.
Now that I am content with the results, it’s time to use the large sticker and get this logo done.
I cut out the large sticker and mixed up the resin.
Remember that you have to get the two bottles warm before using. I only used one cap full of each for the small one so I used three cap full of the resin and hardener. It was more than enough for the sticker and was was able to pour a little more on top.
I also used a plastic cutting board because I don’t have wax paper. I’m sure that if you have wax paper or the equivalent, you should be fine.
Now, to wait 24 hours before attaching to the torso!
